Donate Food for Thanksgiving Food Baskets

The Woburn Council of Social Concern and Food Pantry puts together Holiday Food Baskets for needy families in the area.  One local organization, WREN (Woburn Residents' Environmental Network) pitched in last year (and years prior) by donating 16 Holiday baskets for Thanksgiving and 16 more for Christmas.  If you would like to help by purchasing necessary items and donating them to make these baskets, please see list (below) of what could be donated or contact Rodney Flynn at:  FVirgos01801@aol.com.

10th Annual Harvest Craft Fair

The 10th Annual Harvest Craft Fair will take place on Sunday, October 16 from 9:00am to 3:30pm at the Woburn Sons of Italy, located at 168 Lexington Street in Woburn. Crafts will include jewelry, glassware, quilts, candles, sweets and much more! There will also be food and raffles. Bring the kids for games, a haunted house and prizes. All proceeds support the Woburn Ladies Lodge of the Sons of Italy to help fund their charities.

Appliance Recycling Event at Spence Farm to Benefit the WWll Veterans Memorial Rebuilding Fund

The Medeiros Crew will be holding an appliance recycling event @ Spence Farm on Saturday, October 15 from 9:00am to 1:00pm. Spence Farm is located at 41 Wyman St. in Woburn. This particular appliance recycling collection is a fundraiser for the WWll Veterans Memorial Rebuilding Fund.

Fairy Garden Workshop for Children at McCue Garden Center

McCue Garden Center, located at 200 Cambridge Road in Woburn, is offering a Fall Fairy Gardening Workshop for children on Saturday, October 15 at 5 pm. Create timeless memories in your fairy gardens by creating an enchanted miniature autumn fairy garden in your very own backyard.  With stories by the fire! $15 includes all of the materials your child needs to build their own enchanted fairy garden! Build a Scarecrow at McCue Garden Center and Help the YMCA

This Saturday, October 16 and Sunday, October 17 form 8 am to 6 pm at McCue Garden Center, located at 200 Cambridge Road in Woburn, you can support the YMCA's efforts in our community and spend quality time with your family as you create your own scarecrow.  All the basic supplies you will need will be provided.  Your $15 family donation goes directly to the YMCA Reach Out program, which makes sure that no one is turned away from the North Suburban YMCA due to an inability to pay.

The 2011 Woburn Holiday House Tour will be taking place on Sunday, December 4.  Previously, the 2010 event allowed nearly 250 Woburn residents to tour Woburn’s most interesting and festively decorated homes.  If you are interested in joining the planning committee or would like your house to be considered for this year's tour, please contact Karen Rice at krice@socialcapitalinc.org or (781) 935-2244. Library Book Sale

stack of booksThe Woburn Public Library will be hosting a Book Sale on September 30, October 1 and October 2 at the Woburn Public Library, located at 45 Pleasant Street. This is a great way to support the library and fill your book shelves with some great books!
