St. John's Baptist church will hold a Back to School/Back to Work Blowout Yard Sale at 38-40 Everett Street on Saturday, August 27th, 2011.  Items will include clothing for work and school, as well as books, household items and more.  There will be something for everyone! Stop by, meet your neighbors, and enjoy the bargains.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship Luncheon

Mayor Scott Galvin, Elaine Dougherty, HusbandWoburn residents and members of St. John’s Baptist Church enjoyed an inspirational Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship Luncheon Monday at the Hilton Hotel.  Rev. Pearson of St. John’s opened by emphasizing the importance of cultivating a diverse network of friends as a first step to honoring Dr. King’s legacy.  Woburn Mayor Scott Galvin and Superintendent Mark Donovan were among the Woburn officials on hand to honor Dr. King’s legacy and the award recipients.  Elaine Dougherty received a Community Drum Major Award to recognize her work with the YMCA International Learning Center in Woburn.  MLK scholarships were presented to four graduating seniors.

Gala and Dinner for St. John's Baptist Church

St Johns ChurchOn Saturday, October 24th, 2009 there will be a gala and dinner being held at the Hilton/Woburn Hotel, 2 Forbes Rd., Woburn.  The gala will consist of dinner, dancing and fellowship from 7:00pm - midnight.  Semi-formal attire please. 

Ticket donations are $50 per person and the meal for the evening is chicken, potatoes and seasonal vegetables. 

St. John's Baptist Church MLK Annual Scholarship Award Luncheon

martin luther king jr.St. John's Baptist Church, in partnership with the City of Woburn and Social Capital Inc., will be presenting it's annual award for the Martin Luther Kng Jr. scholarship on Monday, January 19th.  The ceremony will be held at the Hilton Hotel, located at 2 Forbes Road in Woburn from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM.  There will be a keynote address delivered by the President of Wheelock College, Jackie Jenkins-Scott, and the Drum Malor Award will be presented to Robert Norton, Principal of Woburn Memorial High School who will be retiring this year.  Please come and join us in honoring the memory of Dr. King and the legacy he has left to us.

Tickets are still available for purchase at the door for $40 per person.
