Seeking Summer Concert Series Committee Members

It might not be American Idol, but YOU can pick the bands and artists that will entertain Woburn this summer! All you have to do is listen, pick and watch.  SCI is looking for music enthusiasts of all kinds to find new and interesting bands and help plan the 2012 Summer Concert Series.

McTeggart's (Irish) Concert Now This Thursday

Due to the inclement weather on Friday, the first Horn Pond Summer Concert has been re-scheduled for this Thursday, June 30, at 7 p.m. The concert features the McTeggart's (Celtic music) and is sponsored by Sean Coakley and Atlantic Power Cleaning.  For a full line-up of the concert schedule, click here.

Beat Soup is the second performance in the 2011 Horn Pond Summer Concert Series on Friday, July 15 at 7 p.m.

Beat Soup sponsored by Bill Sullivan of Edward Jones. Beat Soup’s ska-influenced stylings include both instrumental dance pieces and vocal numbers. Playing originals and covers, the 8-piece dance band from Boston feature a classic sax/trombone/trumpet horn section as well as guitar, keyboard and drums.

Concert Updates: Celtic Music & Rain Plans

We made a good decision calling off last Friday’s concert—the skies opened up right around the time we were scheduled to start the concert.  Unfortunately, the Daniel Byrne Band didn’t have any convenient dates for rescheduling, so we just have the two remaining concerts on Aug. 6 & Aug. 20.  Next up on Aug. 6 is the Celtic music of the McTeggarts; more on that to follow next week.
