Boston Cares' Family Volunteer Day 2010
Location
Join Boston Cares, the Boys & Girls Club of Somerville and the Lowell Wish Project to help make a difference in your community on Saturday, November 20th! Join local efforts on the national Family Volunteer Day promoted by the HandsOn Network. Volunteers of all ages, their families and friends are encouraged to participate in the Boston Cares’ day of service.
Volunteers can spend the morning sorting donations such as clothing, baby items and furniture at the Lowell Wish Project. The Lowell Wish Project works with social work programs to connect much needed goods and services to deserving residents of the Merrimack Valley.
Volunteers can make a difference in youth literacy by heading to the Boys & Girls Club in Somerville to create indoor recess packets. These indoor recess packets will be donated to the Boys & Girls Club so that the children have a creative, fun and educational activities to complete at home or at the Boys & Girls Club when they can’t be outside.
Sign up and bring your family and friends! Girl Scout troops, Boy Scout troops, youth councils, faith-based youth groups and children ages 5+ are all welcome. Space is limited, so please sign up in advance to ensure you can participate.
Family Volunteer Day will be a fun, interactive and educational day of service that will engage the entire community. This project is for individuals and families of all ages.
