Final Concert This Friday for the 2011 Horn Pond Summer Concert Series

The Horn Pond Summer Concert Series concludes its free concert series this Friday, August 26 with the Jandee Lee Porter Band. This concert will begin at 6:45 p.m., due to the earlier sunset this time of year. It will take place at Horn Pond, along the flat grassy area of Sturgis St., otherwise known as Ice House Park. The Jandee Lee Porter Band is sponsored by McCue Garden Center who will be cooking fresh corn on the cob again this year for the crowd! A singer/songwriter born and raised in a small town in the Connecticut River Valley, Jandee Lee Porter has cultivated a love for music. From a very young age she has been inspired by the power of song, both lyrically and melodically. She is influenced by the everyday little things that often go un-noticed and the experiences she has endured and observed through others.

Her deep country roots combined with influences from other genres such as folk, blues, rock and soul are intertwined to create an alternative sound that is, none other than her own. The fun loving and compelling lyrics are interwoven with heart wrenching vocals to tell stories that take the listener back to the time and place in which they were written.

This is the ninth year that the Woburn Summer Concert Series will entertain Woburn residents. The concerts are a perfect way to enjoy summer nights with your fellow community members. This year’s great venue allows you to enjoy the full beauty of Horn Pond. Bring your family, friends, blankets, bug spray and lawn chairs to Horn Pond to enjoy free concerts every other Friday throughout the summer. With generous support from local businesses, the Concert Series is free to the public.
