Free Lunches Available for Children at Green Street Pool

YMCA

The North Suburban YMCA has once again teamed up with Project Bread to offer free lunches to children this summer at the Green Street Pool.

Beginning the week of June 28, the lunches are available from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Monday-Fridays (except July 5) for the duration of the summer. The lunch consists of a protein, a fruit, a vegetable, and a milk everyday, but the specific lunches vary. The lunches are available for all children under 18, as well as anyone categorized as “special needs”. The lunches need to be eaten onsite, but families are welcome to join them (i.e. the parents can accompany the kids, though you have to be under 18 for the lunches).

There are no income eligibility requirements for the lunches. Any family who could benefit from this service during these tight economic times is encouraged to utilize the program to help their children stay healthy this summer.
