Friends of the Woburn Public Library 15th Birthday Party!
The Friends of the Woburn Public Library (WPL) are celebrating a birthday! Back in 1996, a group of Woburn citizens organized the group. The Friends of the WPL was formed for the broad purposes of promoting increased awareness and use of the Woburn Public Library. The Friends sponsor cultural and educational programs for all ages of the community. They encourage the extension and improvement of library resources and services and conduct fundraising events to fund the above mentioned goals. The Friends of the WPL was formed and meant to be a literary and/or educational organization that has non-profit status.
Any persons or organizations interested in the purposes of the Friends of the WPL are eligible for membership. The organization consists of an Executive Board of eleven members that meets monthly. These are open meetings and any member of the organization is welcome to participate.
Presently, the Friends are seeking more active members. Only requirement is that you have an interest in the purposes of the organization. Enthusiasm is a plus and all ideas are welcomed!
Drop by the Woburn Public Library on Saturday, September 24th between 2:00 and 4:00pm and enjoy the festivities. More information on joining and/or becoming active with the Friends will be available. There will be free drawings and refreshments. All ages are invited but children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
Hope to see you at the party. Free admission and no gifts, please!!!!
