Jandee Lee Porter to Play at Horn Pond Summer Concert Series

Jandee Lee Porter

Weather permitting; the Horn Pond Summer Concert Series continues with a free concert this Friday, July 29, featuring Jandee Lee Porter. The concert runs from 7-9 p.m. at Horn Pond, along the flat grassy area of Sturgis St., otherwise known as Ice House Park. This concert is sponsored by McCue Garden Center who will be cooking fresh corn on the cob again this year for the crowd! Visit them at 200 Cambridge Road in Woburn or on their website at: www.mccuegardencenter.com. The SCI table will be collecting any non-perishable food donations for Social Concern. For a full schedule of concerts including dates, rain dates, band line-up, and sponsors visit www.sciwoburn.org/concerts.

A singer/songwriter born and raised in a small town in the Connecticut River Valley, Jandee Lee Porter has cultivated a love for music. From a very young age she has been inspired by the power of song, both lyrically and melodically. She is influenced by the everyday little things that often go un-noticed and the experiences she has endured and observed through others.

Her deep country roots combined with influences from other genres such as folk, blues, rock and soul are intertwined to create an alternative sound that is, none other than her own. The fun loving and compelling lyrics are interwoven with heart wrenching vocals to tell stories that take the listener back to the time and place in which they were written.

This is the ninth year that the Woburn Summer Concert Series will entertain Woburn residents.  The concerts are a perfect way to enjoy summer nights with your fellow community members. This year’s great venue allows you to enjoy the full beauty of Horn Pond. Bring your family, friends and lawn chairs to Horn Pond to enjoy free concerts every other Friday throughout the summer. With generous support from local businesses, the Concert Series is free to the public.

The Woburn Summer Concert Series is coordinated by Social Capital Inc. (SCI), North Suburban YMCA and Woburn Residents’ Environmental Network (WREN). A special thank you goes out to Tucker Quinn and the Woburn DPW for their logistical assistance.
