The McTeggarts Play to a Crowd of Nearly 600

Friday, August 6th - It was perfect night for a concert at Horn Pond, the humidity had lifted and it was cool and breezy enough to keep the bugs at bay.  The Woburn DPW had worked their magic of cleaning the grassy area in front of the stage, known as Ice House Park, and The McTeggarts, a crowd favorite, played their traditional Irish music for two solid hours, without stopping to take a break.  Attendees ranged in age from 2 weeks old to 90-something!  Many attendees enjoyed picnic dinners and snacks, while those that forgot to pack their own, stood in line at the ice cream truck for pizza slices or ice cream.  This concert was coordinated by Social Capital Inc. along with the North Suburban YMCA and WREN (Woburn Residents’ Environmental Network) and sponsored by Dunkin Donuts of Woburn Center.

The final concert in this year’s Woburn Summer Concert Series, will be held on Friday, August 20th from 7-9pm and features the Mood Elevators, sponsored by Stoneham Bank. Concerts are held at Ice House Park, the flat grassy area that runs along Sturgis Street.  For your comfort and enjoyment, please remember to bring folding chairs or a blanket.  If rain is expected, the alternate (indoor) venue will be the gym at the North Suburban YMCA, located at 137 Lexington St. in Woburn.
