Do you have an old television or computer that you don’t use anymore? Are you having trouble disposing of it? Now you can recycle your electronics and equipment right here in Reading and at the lowest rates around. Take your unwanted items, working or non-working, to the Town Hall parking lot rear, on Saturday, August 14th from 9:00am to 2:00pm.

Many items, such as keyboards, cell phones, digital cameras, car batteries, copper, brass and aluminum will be accepted for recycling at no charge. Modest fees for larger items include:

Computer Monitor $5,

Appliance $10,

Television (small) $10,

Television over 20” $15,

Television (console) $20,

Miscellaneous electronics $5.

Lawn mowers and snow blowers with gas removed, exercise equipment and gas grills without tanks and also accepted.

Items are first evaluated to determine if they can be reused, and if so will be donated or resold. Many will go to local or international technical schools that would otherwise not be able to afford this equipment. If items cannot be reused, the components will be separated and sorted for recycling. In either case, materials are kept out of landfills and reused as is appropriate.

This recycling event is sponsored by The First Congregational Church of Reading. Please contact J.Wood36@yahoo.com with any questions.
