Final Concert This Friday for the 2011 Horn Pond Summer Concert Series

Jandee Lee Porter Band

The Horn Pond Summer Concert Series concludes its free concert series this Friday, August 26 with the Jandee Lee Porter Band. This concert will begin at 6:45 p.m., due to the earlier sunset this time of year. It will take place at Horn Pond, along the flat grassy area of Sturgis St., otherwise known as Ice House Park. The Jandee Lee Porter Band is sponsored by McCue Garden Center who will be cooking fresh corn on the cob again this year for the crowd! Get Ready for a Beatles Invasion in Woburn!

BeatleTracksThe Beatles are coming! The Beatles are coming! Well, not the actual Beatles, but a band called BeatleTracks. This band is scheduled to play at Horn Pond in Woburn on Saturday, August 20 starting at 6:45 p.m. This tribute band is based here in Massachusetts and this performance is being sponsored by Dunkin Donuts of Woburn Center. They are committed to performing the authentic sounding music of the Beatles live in concert (including the Beatles solo careers).  Formed in 2002 the band was drawn together by their love of the Beatles and the desire to keep alive the sounds that have brought them so much joy.

The Mishawum Choral Society begins rehearsals for the fall season on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 7:30 PM in the sanctuary of the First Baptist Church in Woburn Center (corner of Main and Winn Streets).  The group holds open rehearsals during the month of September and welcomes new members who have experience in four-part choral singing and can read along with sheet music.  Concerts are performed in the Crawford Memorial Methodist Church in Winchester.  For more information, go to website www.mishawumchoral.org or call 781-438-4379.
