Jandee Lee Porter Band

The Horn Pond Summer Concert Series concludes its free concert series this Friday, August 26 with the Jandee Lee Porter Band. This concert will begin at 6:45 p.m., due to the earlier sunset this time of year. It will take place at Horn Pond, along the flat grassy area of Sturgis St., otherwise known as Ice House Park. The Jandee Lee Porter Band is sponsored by McCue Garden Center who will be cooking fresh corn on the cob again this year for the crowd! Visit them at 200 Cambridge Road in Woburn or on their website at: www.mccuegardencenter.com. The SCI table will once again be collecting any non-perishable food donations for Social Concern.

Get Ready for a Beatles Invasion in Woburn!

BeatleTracksThe Beatles are coming! The Beatles are coming! Well, not the actual Beatles, but a band called BeatleTracks. This band is scheduled to play at Horn Pond in Woburn on Saturday, August 20 starting at 6:45 p.m. This tribute band is based here in Massachusetts and this performance is being sponsored by Dunkin Donuts of Woburn Center. They are committed to performing the authentic sounding music of the Beatles live in concert (including the Beatles solo careers).  Formed in 2002 the band was drawn together by their love of the Beatles and the desire to keep alive the sounds that have brought them so much joy.

Weather permitting; the Horn Pond Summer Concert Series continues with a free concert this Friday, July 29, featuring Jandee Lee Porter. The concert runs from 7-9 p.m. at Horn Pond, along the flat grassy area of Sturgis St., otherwise known as Ice House Park. This concert is sponsored by McCue Garden Center who will be cooking fresh corn on the cob again this year for the crowd! The Concert Series Committee is proud to announce the 2011 Horn Pond Summer Concert Series! The Horn Pond Summer Concert Series is a collection of free concerts designed to promote community spirit organized by SCI, the North Suburban YMCA and WREN (Woburn Residents’ Environmental Network), and sponsored by local businesses. A special thank you goes out to the City of Woburn, Tucker Quinn and the Woburn DPW for providing a stage and helping with other concert logistics.

6th Annual Horn Pond Memorial Lantern Walk

Gather at Horn Pond, Lake Avenue/Pump House Parking Area.

Lanterns light our way for the 6th Annual Lantern Walk. We walk together and remember the lives and spirits of our friends, classmates, and family who have died.

Make a lantern at one of our workshops, bring yours from last year or make a donation for one at the pond. Lanterns will be available for a donation at the event. Suggested donation $5 to $20 All donations go to the Friends of Mary Cummings Park.
